2008 - Dear
Friends! I know most of you guys, just like me, are worried about Céline's
health. News coming through out the internet show something wrong could be
coming as she is either postponing or canceling concerts all across America
due to her Illness.
Céline's physician has instructed her to refrain from singing in order to completely recuperate from a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection which was further complicated by inflamed vocal chords.
Even I had to postpone my trip last weekend because of that. When these things happen, I just realize Céline is a Human Being and not the Angel I think about. Yes, She has all the rights of getting sick sometimes, like all of us.
But that's alright... She should be ok for next week's presentation on Jay Leno's show.
Yes! Celine is
scheduled to appear on
The Tonight Show
with Jay Leno on December 1 and will be in the Los Angeles area to perform
at the
Grammy's Nominations concert airing on December 3. Just to point you that
she's still here for us, she won her 11th World Music Award! She was honoured
for being the 'Best Selling Canadian Artist' at the 2008 World Music Awards
recently held in Monte Carlo!

performance of "Un peu plus haut, un peu plus loin" with Ginette Reno and
Jean-Pierre Ferland, is included on Ferland's compilation CD titled
'Les Chansons oubliées'
(in French only). The famous Quebec singers performed this beautiful song on
the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City during last summer's 400th anniversary

- A very peculiar tribute was given last night to Céline Dion,
the artist to have received the highest number of Félix in all history of the
Gala ADISC, making a total of 39 trophies.
Presented by
Luc Plamondon, she has been given thanks for never have forgotten her mother language, and for being an example to all the artists whom are following her.A special work has been composed by André Gagnon specially for her and performed at the Centre Bell stage by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM). And a nice video showing her way on the road up until now was also shown.
«Reviewing our lives in a couple of minutes it's sometimes a shock, but what a nice one I have been given», she said after a monster Ovation, leaving her with no voice for minutes.
«I have already received prizes of very different types and places, but no matter where it might have been, my manager of love always bring me here, in Québec, because it's here that no matter what I do, has its meaning. am so so sorry!!!
- Céline has been on Oprah on Tuesday. I have taken the time to watch her performance of My Love and OMG it was simply the most amazing and touching performance I had ever seen my whole taking chances life. She really made me cry. I gotta tell you I am quite emotional these days... maybe it's because my next Taking Chances Concert is getting closer lol. But here it is... - The Non Authorized Bio Movie 'Céline' will also
come out in Brazil next month. I have bought this movie myself. It's pretty
good except for some moments of our Diva's life which are a bit out of the
order to reality and the way they have put Maman Dion (Céline's Mom) on it

yet but I am not living in my country anymore since March and I miss my family
so so bad. Well, I will try to bring up an overview of the latest news:
- Céline's compilation, My Love, has already its confirmed tracklisting. You can find it here, there and everywhere. - On October 5th there will have a Céline Dion interview on CBC-TV. different versions of My Love (the
new compilation album):
'My Love: Essential Collection' and 'My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection', The ultimate one will be a double disk release. By cliking on those links, from amazon.com we can find two different tracklists yet not officially confirmed. I think we can consider them as official. Normally Amazon site shows these information even before TeamCéline and usually, they are correct. Besides that, we have this next link in French which talks about this release as well and also, mentions the new dvd from the world tour, which should come out before the end of the year (some rumours say it will come after its end but... let's wait and see).

years after being made a 'Chevalier dans l'ordre de la Légion d'honneur'
(Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honor), Celine will
receive her medal from French President Nicolas Sarkozy during an official
ceremony held at the 'Palais de l'Elysée' in Paris, France. This
world-renowned Order is the highest decoration in France honouring the merit
of notable people for acts rendered to the nation of France and is divided
into various ranks. Celine received this honourable title in 2005, however an
official ceremony could not be held until now due to Celine's engagement in
Las Vegas. This is Celine's second prestigious award of this kind as she was
awarded France's 'Chevalier des Arts et Lettres' medal in the 1990's.

- Céline had to reschedule some of her shows in Australia because she got sick. Celine is being treated with antibiotics for a minor throat infection and irritated sinuses that she has been suffering from for a number of days since arriving in that country. Accordingly her doctor has instructed her to rest for an additional 48 hours in order to be fully recovered.
"I've been looking forward to doing this show in Brisbane for so long... I'm
really sorry to disappoint my fans tonight... I can't wait to see them on the

- I told you all I am having quite a
short time but I needed to come quickly and comment on this
video of Céline giving a helping hand in South Africa. Céline helped
giving food to the most needed ones in that country. Not only she got touched
with the so huge life difference between her and them, but she touched also
her son and many other people like me for example. Everyday I have more and
more reasons to be proud to say Céline is not from this world of ours. Watch
yourself! No words are needed.
- Celine has accepted
the role of celebrity spokesperson for 'La langue française, elle est bien
québécoise,' a French-language writing contest in Quebec. Students in grades 5
to 11 from all over the province can participate. The grand prize is a 2-night
stay in Quebec city and two passes to Quebec City's 400th birthday
celebrations concert on August 22, 2008 where Celine is scheduled to perform!!

Mandela Foundation in South Africa. First concert will be done tomorrow night.
- Don't miss tonight on CBS the TV Special That's just the woman in me. Céline sings a couple of songs including Taking Chances and River Deep Mountain High. She also performs The Prayer with Josh Groban.
- Vito Luprano left Sony Music BMG. According to what we have read around the internet, René will not leave him as he's is being a producer of Céline for about 20 years and is the only one Céline trusts for her albums.

Africa I may bring you something about her in Brazil. Taking Chances jumped up
from 64th to 62nd position on Brazilian top 100 single charts and from 16th to
14th on top 30 dance play one.

- On this article (In French) we are able to read that Céline is very well received in South Africa. Agnès Gaudet (Le Journal de Montréal) says she asked the taxi driver about Céline and he told her everyone knows her and all of her songs. He said he has one of her albums at his house too. The most important magazine 'You' with Céline completely sold out upon it had been released. Céline is now the one who sold more concert tickets. Michael Jackson was the best one until her arrival. He had sold 200,000 tickets 10 years ago but she sold around 350,000... OMG!!
- Here we have a video also in French that talks about her arrival too and shows a bit about her stage, and sales of Taking Chances and A new day DVD (100,000 copies each since their releases). Chances' also landed the #1 spot on the 'Top 40 des ventes 2007 Soundscan
